Services at Ayushman Bharat- Health & Wellness Centres (AB-HWCs) are free and universal to all individuals living in the service region. AB-HWCs would give service delivery of a package of preventive, promotive, curative and rehabilitative services near communities to overcome the challenge of the dual burden of disease. The widened range of services would include services related to Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), Mental health, ENT, Ophthalmology, Oral health, Geriatric and Palliative Health Care and Trauma Care, in addition to the existing services of RCH and communicable diseases. Further Free Diagnostics and Drugs Services have been expanded to make more medicines/ diagnostics available at these AB-HWCs.
Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) offers health coverage up to Rs. 5 lakh per family per year for secondary and tertiary inpatient care through a set of 1393 defined packages, including one (1) undefined surgical package, across 24 specialities. The Annexure contains information on the specialities covered by AB-PMJAY.
The following components are included in the health coverage provided by AB-PMJAY, which covers all costs related to hospitalisation of beneficiaries:
- Medical examination, treatment, and consultation
- Pre-hospitalization
- Medicine supplies
- Non-intensive and intensive care services
- Diagnostic and laboratory investigations
- Medical implant services
- Accommodation advantages
- Food services
- Complications arising during treatment
- Follow-up care after hospitalisation for up to 15 days
As on 05.07.2022, over 3.37 Crore hospital admission cases have been registered across 32 States under AB-PMJAY.
