What is Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA Card)?

The ABHA (Health ID) is a special health ID that uses a person's mobile number or aadhaar to generate a 14-digit health identification number. The digital health record will be accessible to users, insurance providers, and hospitals. For instance, by showing the health ID to a verified doctor or other health service provider, the patient will be able to acquire all the information digitally, including lab results, prescriptions, consultation information, and diagnosis. No matter where in the country the beneficiary is admitted, this would make it simple for doctors to access and share the beneficiary's health details.

With the help of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Health Account (Health ID), the government aims to do better planning, execution and funding of states and health programs. Additionally, it will also digitally connect the hospitals across the country with one another. However, applying for a digital health ID is voluntary and does not involve costs.
